Goat Pond Dive, May 2003

These photos were taken on May 3, 2003 at Goat Pond Alberta. Goat Pond is part of the water system above the town of Canmore Alberta. Water flows from Spray Lakes, down through a canal and then through a tunnel, exiting into Goat Pond.

Members of the dive team were Greg Mosfeldt, Brian Nadwidny, Mike Burgess and Richard Huntrods. Everyone but me used scooters to explore the cave. I just played around the entrance (nice current), and explored with Brian Nadwidny about 100 feet into the cave.

When we arrived, the weather was snowy and quite windy, but not horrible. When we exited after about an hour diving, we were greeted by a nasty blizzard. It was so cold and windy that wet gear was freezing as we struggled to remove it.

Photos 1-6 were taken with a Nikon digital land camera. Photos 8-11 were taken with a Sealife DC200 digital underwater camera.
